JSST 2023 Young Researcher Encouragement Award was presented by Japan Society for Simulation Technology (JSST) to Mr. Kazuya Ishiba for the paper entitled “Determination of Resonant Mechanism of Polymer Micromachined Insect Inspired Flapping Device Using Finite Element Modal Analysis”.

 

Our paper is highlighted by Cover for Biomimetics (https://www.mdpi.com/2313-7673/8/8). Biomimetics is peer-reviewed international journal on biomimicry and bionics, and has received Impact Factor of 4.5 along with Cite Score of 4.5. On Web of Science, Biomimetics ranks 22/90 (Q1) in “Engineering, Multidisciplinary”, 22/45 (Q2) in “Materials Science, Biomaterials”.

Our paper, “Passive mechanism of pitch recoil in flapping insect wings (https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-3190/12/1/016008)”, appears in top 100 most highly cited articles from 2017-2019 in Bioinspiration & Biomimetics (IF 2.985)!

Mr. Minato Onishi recieved the outstanding presentation award for his oral presentation (M. Onishi, D. Ishihara, Effect of wing’s mass distribution on the aerodynamic performance in insect flapping wings)in the 41th JSST Annual Conference International Conference on Simulation Technology (JSST2022) (2022/8/31-9/2).

Ph.D. Thesis Title: Development of polymer micromachined flapping-wing nano air vehicle using iterative design window search methodology

Mr. Minato Onishi (Third-year doctoral student) and Prof. Daisuke Ishihara received JSST (Japan Society for Simulation Technology) 2022 Best Paper Award for their research paper in the 41th JSST Annual Conference International Conference on Simulation Technology (JSST2022).
The paper title is “Performance evaluation of the pixel wing model for the insect wing’s camber” (Minato Onishi and Daisuke Ishihara).
This award is selected and presented from “Journal of Advanced Simulation in Science and Engineering (JASSE)” Vol.7 No.1 (2020) ~ Vol.8 No.2 (2021).
